Guest posts give us the opportunity to bring diverse voices and topics to our readers.

Unfortunately we can’t accept all guest post requests and our editorial team have guidelines in place to make sure our readers get the most value from the content we publish.

Before submitting a guest post enquiry, read the our guidelines carefully to give your content the best chance for successful publication.

How to submit your guest post request.

1. Send us an email

Send an email to startlivingafrica@gmail.com with your guest post topic, a rough outlines and the URL for the site you would like to link to.

2. Wait for our response

We’ll get back to you in 72 hours to approve your topic or make any suggestions to improve your outline for our readers.

3. Submit your final draft

Submit your guest post as a Google doc. Remember to allow editing access. All guest posts will only be published after invoices are paid in full.

Please read these guest post guidelines carefully before sending your request.

  • All topics must be related to travel.
  • Please include a title and a featured image.
  • Please use contextualised and natural looking anchor text.
  • Please include 2 – 3 internal links to some of our live blog posts that relate to your guest feature.
  • Please provide author details (first name, last name, occupation, link to LinkedIn profile if possible).
  • All guest posts must be between 750 – 1200 words.
  • Spelling and grammar should be inline with English, United Kingdom.
BANNED POST TOPICS

Please DO NOT submit any of the following topics for a guest feature.

We will not publish guest posts about any of the below topics and your email will automatically be marked as spam and address blocked if your submit a request for one of these topics.

Gambling

We will not accept any topics related to gambling or casinos.

Pornography

We will not accepts guest post content that make reference to pornography.

Promotion

We will not accept content that has the sole purpose of obtaining a backlink.

HOW TO WRITE A GUEST FEATURE

Follow these writing guidelines

All of our content is informative but conversational. We help travellers plan better by being the friend that has all the best travel tips!

  • Length: 750 – 1200 words
  • Tone: Friendly, conversational, informative. Please read some of our blog posts to get an idea of our TOV.
  • Structure: Break up your post into subheading and paragraphs.
  • Spelling and Grammar: Use UK English and spellcheck your work before submission.
  • Outbound Links: The post may contain one outbound link and 2-3 internal links to Start Living blog content.
  • Author Bio: Please submit a short author bio that includes first and last names, occupation and a link to your LinkedIn profile (if possible).
